Elfreth's Alley

Elfreth's Alley, commonly referred to as "Our Nation's oldest residential street"

Get the most out of your Philadelphia Sightseeing

Whether you have 2 hourshalf a day or a full day Awfully Nice Tours will take you on a Philadelphia tour through the city from the Delaware River to the Schuylkill River and beyond into Fairmount Park. However long you have you will discover many Philadelphia attractions and some of the finer historic details of the city, and even the shorter whistle-stop adventure will give travelers the chance to understand the overall grandeur and districts of the city...and you'll learn about the history as well as the current day culture, the restaurants and arts scene, public art and murals.

Of course, we will always advise that you take a full day Philadelphia tour, which will give you the chance to walk around important sights such as Elfreth's Alley, Christ Church, Franklin Court and the Franklin print shop, Carpenter's Hall, the Rodin Museum, the boathouses on the Schuylkill and Fairmount Park gems such as the Laurel Hill Cemetery and Historic RittenhouseTown.

2 to 3 Hour Tour
In 2 or 3 hours your tour will see the Delaware River, Elfreth’s Alley, Christ Church, City Tavern, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall and many other parts of the Historic District.  You’ll pass the Walnut Street Theatre, City Hall, drive down the Avenue of the Arts and Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and see Love Park, the Rodin Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art (and Rocky’s statue and the famous steps!!). We’ll pass the Eastern State Penitentiary, one-time home of Al Capone, the boathouses on the Schuylkill River, Lemon Hill Mansion and Memorial Hall in Centennial Park.  Finally, if there’s time we’ll get out to Belmont Plateau for a great view of the city and come back through Rittenhouse Square.
Half-Day Tour
If you have a Half-Day , you’ll do everything offered in the 2 or 3-hour tour, and you’ll also have more time to get out and take pictures as well as taking a walk – perhaps down Elfreth’s Alley or into Christ Church, into the Rodin Museum, or to the gazebo next the boathouses on the Schuylkill – it’s your tour and your choice, but of course we’ll give you some great suggestions!  In addition we’ll have time to take detours into Society Hill and out to South Philly, home of the great Philly Cheese Steak, as well as the renowned cheese steak eateries, Geno’s and Pat’s.

Full-Day Tour
Our Full-Day tour will cover everything on the Half-Day tour, and will also take you to the Schuylkill River town of Manayunk and out into the further reaches of Fairmount Park to include the beautifully situated Laurel Hill Cemetery and Historic RittenhouseTown, birth place of David Rittenhouse, whose name gave us Rittenhouse Town.
We will give you suggestions for lunch, either a snack or full-blown meal.  A great day of Philadelphia sightseeing.
